New Footings
The new Footings of the Drying Shed were excavated and concrete poured to form the large padstones for the new development.
The Plan
The current building will be dismantled, rotated 90 degrees and re-errected on the left hand side of the plot. A new one and a half storey Ty Unnos building will be constructed to the right of the newly positioned existing building.
The new pavilion building will be used to display the uses of welsh timber in modern construction, while the existing building will be left open to the elements for monitoring and demonstration.
Between the two building will be some traditional decking made of welsh timber accompanied by some burnt cobble blocks to form the entrance ramp.
Maxiom Wins Royal Welsh Pavilion
Coed Cymru awarded the contract for their new pavilion at the Royal Welsh Show Ground to Maxiom in April 2015. Work commences on the 27 of April with the dismantling of the existing Ty Unnos frame. The frame has travelled around the world demonstrating the benefits of the innovative welsh wooden structure. Made entirely of welsh wood the new drying shed will sit comfortably in its final location proudly presenting the new methods of utilising home grown timber.
